The essential oils(aroma constituents) from leaves of some species have plant growth inhibitors(allelochemicals) and repellents against mosquitos. N,N-Diethyl-m-toluamide (DEET), a commercially available mosquito repellent, has many disadvantages as an unpleasant odor, skin penetration and carcinogenicity. We have explored alternative repellents without such drawbacks. From the essential oils Eucalyptus citriodora and E.camaldulensis leaves, new repellents, p-menthane-3,8-diols ( cis and trans ) and (+)eucamalol,(1R,6R)-(+)-3-formyl-6-isopropyl-2-cyclohexene-1-ol were isolated, respectively. The absolute configuration was determined by synthesizing from (S)-(―)-perillaldehyde.}, pages = {24--30}, title = {ユーカリの香り成分と生理活性 (特集 植物が発する香りの機能はどこまで追跡されているのか)}, volume = {17}, year = {2016} }
