| 内容記述 | About 700 Eucalyptus species are known in the world,mainly in Australia. The essential oils(aroma constituents) from leaves of some species have plant growth inhibitors(allelochemicals) and repellents against mosquitos. N,N-Diethyl-m-toluamide (DEET), a commercially available mosquito repellent, has many disadvantages as an unpleasant odor, skin penetration and carcinogenicity. We have explored alternative repellents without such drawbacks. From the essential oils Eucalyptus citriodora and E.camaldulensis leaves, new repellents, p-menthane-3,8-diols ( cis and trans ) and (+)eucamalol,(1R,6R)-(+)-3-formyl-6-isopropyl-2-cyclohexene-1-ol were isolated, respectively. The absolute configuration was determined by synthesizing from (S)-(―)-perillaldehyde. |
